![]() ACD See has always been speedy because once it has opened an image that image is cashed until you close ACD See or browse to a different folder so as a result it eats RAM. I currenly have about 1000 images on my HDD and 12 CD's cataloged by ACD See and that database file is about 800mb! It is also a RAM pig eating up about 200mb of my 1gig just to open it (it has eaten as much as 700mb of RAM when I have viewed a couple of hundred images). So as you would guess the database can be huge. That database file contains all of the thumbnails of the images ACD See has viewed. 7 uses a static database stored on your boot drive no matter what drive your images or the program is loaded onto. ![]() 7 is certainly faster but there is a penalty for the speed. I have been using ACD See since version 1.6 and did upgrade from 6 to 7. ![]()
